Description

These two recently fledged bald eaglets are a short hop from the nest tree, and it has been raining for about six hours. They appear to be closely consulting about something, and it is a joy to observe. The first month of life is critical for the survival of the weaker eaglet, and from 12-16 weeks of age (as pictured) the young eagles still depend on their parents for food delivery. Taken in Jacksonville, FL near a nest I have watched for four years.
